Smoothly joined ... the black ice imagery with Thanksgiving ... gives a fine elegiac tone to the verse, most unusual for Thanksgiving poetry.

Haiku Unchained
Denis - thank you for visiting, and for the thoughtful words. As a divorced Dad with five children living all across the East Coast, brothers on the West Coast and parents in Florida, I find Thanksgiving to be a grueling, but ultimately enjoyable roller coaster ride. At the moment I'm breathing a sigh that is equal parts relief and longing.
